The contrast or Speed Paints I use very in strength so you may want to add thinner for lighter color and carefully add a second coat for dark. Experiment first
This is a great starter kit. I have actually purchased this one several times
Vallejo Makes a good Primer but I really like Stynylres Primer from Badger Air-Brush the best, OH and what ever you go with make sure you get a matte finish
Make sure and Varnish when your done, paint will rub off if your model gets handled. Maybe pick up a small bottle of glossy varnish too for a wet look if you need it
You do NOT need the best brushes, buy a few and see what you like then use those.
This is a decent set of brushed. I do not buy expensive ones, they get ruined pretty quick, but then again I am pretty hard on them and use them a lot
Again, I do not use expensive brushes for this kind of painting so I recommend this set of brushes. They are pretty good and I like them
Here is another set of brushes that I like to use, The flat edge lets me get right up on them edges.
I do a lot of the Mad Scientist stuff here so if you already 3d print you may already have what works for you but I'm just gonna share what work for me
I mix my resins to come up with a good formula that works for me. This resin is designed for high strength, high toughness but its thick and doesn't flow as nice as the Rapid resin. Works great out of the bottle on my Saturn 4
Now for the Saturn 4 ULTRA I use a 50/50 mix of the Rapid and the ABS. RAPID 3D printer resin is formulated to provide high fluidity and low viscosity so the resin can quickly reflow to the area between the model and release film. When I mix the two I get a good flow as well as strength and toughness.
YES! I do some filament printing, the quality and detail of the prints are not as good as resin but it is cleaner and does not smell. I usually use the filament to print articulated items. especially if the joints are really tight
I watch a lot of YouTube and visit with a lot of Vendors at Cons and every now and then you find that little gem of an idea that make life just a bit easier
I found this little beauty from a YouTuber a little while back and what a find. Just drop the paint in and away you go, when the paint drys you just pop it out and keep on keepin on .
This is the Magnet I use for the back of the... well the back of the magnets we make. this link will take to the page, from there you just need to pick the size you Want.
This stuff works great, I put this on just about everything. fill in gaps or give something a supper gloss, I even paint this on areas like eye balls or gums for a wicked wet look.
Drool and goop has never been so easy. It goes on thick and tacky and you can squeeze and drag across you want some creepy drool to be
If your using regular Acrylic Paints you may want a wet palette to help keep your paint fresh. Its airtight lid prevents acrylics from drying out during painting, saving time and reducing waste
This stuff works good if you need to spray near an area already painted and done and you do NOT want to over spray. When your all done spraying and everything is dry you just peel it off
The items i listed above are tools and material that I use and have success with. I show only what I use and I use all the items I listed above
